Cancelling a scheduled dog training appointment can be done until 5 PM the previous day. In case of cancellations after that the training assignment is to be regarded as completed. We are kindly asking for your understanding at this point: our trainer colleagues make a living out of the regular assignments, their days are scheduled ahead and cancellations cause unwanted idle time during the day. It goes without saying that in case of force major, or other, unforeseeable events we strive to be flexible. Payment is done to the trainer colleagues directly, in cash or by credit card, either weekly or monthly ahead. If you require a corporate invoice, kindly contact our company directly. The dog training prices indicated on our webpage are training base prices, which, with some minor exceptions, are applicable to the area within the virtual circle drawn by Hungária-Róbert Károly-Könyves Kálmán krt and its continuation on the Buda side. In the case of areas outside this circle we usually account a HUF 100 travel surcharge / km / occasion. In most dog training modalities a typical lesson or unit takes 60-90 minutes per dog – based on our experience, this is the time period that a dog is able to concentrate and digest new material. We get this question fairly often, but this can only be approximately estimated after the first consultation meeting. It might happen that the owner is able to solve the issue alone after a telephone consultation with our trainer colleague, but there might be problems or challenges that can only be resolved with months of comprehensive, hard, enduring and consequent behaviour from the owner’s side. We always try to make an estimate as to how long the solution might take, how many occasions the owner will need with our colleague. Let us also emphasize here that the duration and success of the training courses strongly depend on the owner’s attitude and diligence, not only during and in-between classes, but mostly thereafter. Our dog trainer colleagues are graduated dog trainers with either dog trainer or habilitation dog trainer diplomas and many years of canine experience. They are true dog aficionados, have been dog keepers themselves for years or decades and are real dog enthusiasts. Most of them regularly take part in trainings, dog programs, many of them have volunteered in shelters, have done a lot of dog-related social work, too. Many of them do regularly dog sports, i.e. Canicross or Dogtrailing. They often organize dog excursions, participate in competitions, organize presentations and seminars. Sure you can! Our colleagues are at your service via telephone whenever they can – this is a sort of quick helpline, guidance, if you will. We trust every time that this first step might be the beginning of a fruitful, long lasting relationship. In order to achieve sustainable success, the appropriate training of the owner is indispensable. Our trainers will provide effective and tested advice for the lasting effect of the training both in theory (ethology, consistency, training principles, dog-keeping methods, gradation, etc.) and in practice (training obedience, practicing, games, forming and maintaining a relationship with the dog, socialization, etc.). We are happy to offer professional advisory via telephone at first instance. Nonetheless, we do recommend a personal meeting (whenever geographically possible), as this is the only way to get to know you, your needs and, most importantly, your dog. We usually provide professional advisory in a myriad of topics, starting from housebroken (or house) training through the right way of walking all the way to the learning of different competencies. Professional advisory is, of course, a prerequisite for starting a successful training course – this is where we assess what the owner wishes to achieve, within which time period, what the realistic (and not-so-realistic) expectations are and what the tasks – on the long run – are, in order for the training course to have a lasting effect. Despite the fact that the most efficient method for training is one-on-one private training, group trainings might be the right choice in certain training topics and settings, and if the necessary number of group members is present, then we are happy to provide group trainings as well – these are mostly at your service in the case of city training and communications training. Our company, as for now, does not offer group classes in the ordinary sense, meaning the way it’s done at dog schools. The dog therapist, or dog therapy per se, tries on the basis of tried and tested psychological principles to modify dog behaviour to the advantage of the owner. In order for the therapy to be successful, one requires exact and sound psychological and general professional knowledge of dogs. Very often exactly these or some very similar questions arise: • Why does my dog hate the cleaning lady and no-one else? We try to shed light, mostly to the owner's full satisfaction, on "anomalies" relating to similar issues as above, mostly having their roots in neurotics, aggressiveness, obedience, food intake and metabolism, sexuality, walking problems and similar issues. The communication of dogs is a truly complex process, and for the correct interpretation the owner not only has to understand the body language of his own, but also that of the surrounding dogs. In order to acquire this knowledge it helps a lot if we know what we have to pay attention to. Our dog's behaviour does not only have an effect on the current situation at hand, his personality is strongly influenced by past experiences – the stimuli he was subjected to during the early years, the negative and positive experiences – all these influence a dog's personality development to a different extent. Dogs need to learn how to communicate with their peers, and for that they need interaction. This is where we come in. Games or walks in the park or the dog run nearby only make up a small part of a dog's time. During his everyday life our dog often gets into an unknown, strange or even scary situation. These challenges cannot always be overcome by him alone - our dog often needs our help. This program was designed to assist especially in this matter. The most important topics of the training program are: • Getting acquainted with the public transportation of Budapest, learning how to use them with your pet The aim of dog training is controlling actions through the dog's brain: we develop the dog's mind and intellect. The training itself needs to be fitted to the dog's individual character and attributes: one dog may be shy, the other more brave, again another more sensitive, while the other a little less, the third forthcoming, the other non-obedient. Regarding their temper, dogs are just as different as humans, therefore we can honestly say: no two dogs are alike. As a consequence comes the trainer's assumption to approach his work from the dog's viewpoint and plan and schedule a training program by considering each and every individual trait. In the framework of individual training, our colleague, after having performed a thorough investigation, prepares an individual training plan perfectly adapted to the personal traits of the dog. This is the key to our success. Depending on the chosen training program described above, we offer training services – reserving the right of freedom to recommend the most suitable venue and modality choice for dealing with the challenge at hand – at the following sites: 1. Dog training and the client or in his/her direct vicinity Our company offers dog training programs in four main domains: general dog training, city dog training, communications training as well as training of behavioural anomalies. Our company uses the same client documents in the case of services rendered at the client or on field. These consist of: Order Form, Dog Form and Client Consent Form. We register all data of the owner and all details of the service on the Order Form. The dog’s general data, health-related data, background information, behaviour-related information and service goals are registered in the Dog Form. In the Client Consent Form the client consents to our General Terms and Conditions and acknowledges the service provided and the details contained in the document. If you choose to use our dog training services, then we are primarily at your disposal via telephone (+36 1 246 23 06) or e-mail (info@dogmopolite.hu). In addition, you can also register for this service on our homepage through our online form, in which we are already asking a lot of important questions regarding your dog and the situation at hand. After starting the service you’ll be in direct contact with our dog sitter colleague, as well as the dog sitter coordinator colleague for possible changes or other requests. How do I cancel an appointment?
